This year, one of Ottawa’s best banh mi shops closed. Quê Hương Vietnamese Subs on Somerset was an absolute gem, and was run by the sweetest old lady in the entire world. She would always stop and chat while she made your food. She really made you feel like family. In honour of this wonderful shop, and the delicious food she created, we’ve decided to do banh mi sliders. Banh mi are Vietnamese subs made on a type of baguette. If you’ve never had banh mi before, you’ll love it. Here’s what’s in this week’s box.
Homemade banh mi slider buns
Chili-lime pickled onions
Glass noodle salad with a fresh herb dressing
Vietnamese coffee tiramisu
Our substitute for soy allergies this week is a 5-spice roasted cauliflower.
If you’ve never tried our blackened tofu, it’s incredible and has converted countless dyed in the wool meat eaters. If you have any dietary questions feel free to fire us off a message, we’re always happy to do what we can. Cutoff for orders is Wednesday August 26th, delivery is between 12 and 5pm Thursday August 27th.
