This box has been a long time coming. We absolutely love French Canadian cooking, and tourtière is right up at the top of the list. We just needed it to start snowing.
There is nothing better than homemade tourtière on a chilly day. In fact, there’s nothing better than homemade tourtière most days.
Homemade Tourtière A traditional Quebecois meat pie, made with a blend of subtly spiced ground beef and pork in a double crust homemade pie shell. Nothing less than perfection.
Scalloped Potatoes A classic potato gratin of thinly sliced potatoes with a cheesy bechamel top.
Vichy Carrots A classic French side dish of carrots in a light sweet glaze tossed with parsley.
Homemade Ketchup There’s a bit of a toss up as to whether ketchup or chili sauce is the best topping for tourtiere. We put it to a vote and went with a delicious homemade ketchup. It’s so good that even people who don’t like ketchup like it.
Pouding Chômeur A traditional Quebecois bread pudding. Similar to a sticky toffee pudding, only lighter and with a hint of maple. If you’ve never had it before, you owe it to yourself to try it.
Our vegetarian alternative is a roasted vegetable tourtière. We will also be doing a pork-free tourtière for those who don’t eat pork. As usual, we can do a half-vegetarian half-meat box so everyone gets fed. Just include a note with your preference at checkout.
Order cutoff is Wednesday December 9th at 6pm with delivery Thursday December 10th between 11am and 5pm.
Never hesitate to ask us about any dietary restrictions you may have, we love to feed people and always do our best to accommodate.
