We make it a habit to revisit an old box every once in awhile. It's great because it gives all our new friends a chance to try something they might have missed out on, gives us a chance to work on bringing you more incredible options in the future, and most importantly, you get to eat something that you absolutely loved again.
Since the first signs of spring are starting to show up, we decided it was time to do what has become our most highly-requested box before the weather changes—our fabulous beef bourguignon. Once again, we're doing something special and using house-smoked thick-cut bacon, smoked with a blend of apple and hickory. We've also taken the liberty of trying to curb your chocolate craving with an absolutely divine dessert.
It'll be your last chance to get it this year, so don't miss out.
Fennel & Arugula Salad Thinly shaved fennel tossed with arugula and topped with crispy shallots, and dressed in an apple, honey, and leek vinaigrette.
Beef Bourguignon A traditional slow-braised French stew with beef, red wine, thick-cut house-smoked bacon, mushrooms, carrots, fresh herbs, and pearl onions. Topped with green onions for a bit of brightness. There's a reason Julia Childs called this dish "certainly one of the most delicious beef dishes concocted by man."
Homemade Egg Noodles Traditional hand-cut homemade egg noodles
Fresh Buns These light and fluffy fresh-baked buns are perfect for sopping up the last little bit of sauce left on your plate.
Double Chocolate Tart This chocolate tart is almost more of a dark chocolate truffle with a crust. Anna and I have been having a serious chocolate craving lately and thought this box would be the perfect place for our favourite chocolatey treat. It's not too sweet, and not too rich.
Mushroom Bourguignon Our vegetarian alternate this week is a mushroom- and veggie-based bourguignon. We use a rich vegetable stock, and a blend of char-grilled king oyster, house-smoked portabello, and sauteed cremini and button mushrooms to give it just the right blend of flavours to match its meat-based French namesake.
As usual, we can do a half-vegetarian, half-meat box so everyone gets fed. Just include a note with your preference at checkout.
Order cutoff is 3pm Wednesday March 3rd, with free local delivery Thursday March 4th, between 11am and 5pm.
Never hesitate to send us an email regarding any dietary restrictions, or questions you may have before you order. We love to feed people and always do our best to accommodate.
