One of the requests we get the most often is to do some sort of seafood box. We love seafood but given the nature of what we do it's one of the most challenging things to do as a Love Box. We've been working on doing a seafood lasagna for a while now, and we've got it down pat. So now it's time for you to enjoy.
In typical Love Box fashion, we're making it with all the love and care you've come to expect. Of course we're making our own pasta, but we're also making our own ricotta cheese. We found it's the secret to keep things nice, light, and full of flavour. We also use wild caught, and/or sustainable seafood so you can feel good about what you're eating.
Here's what's in your box this week:
Seafood Lasagna A light and delicious seafood lasagna with layers of bechamel, mozzarella, homemade ricotta, lemon zest, garlic, spinach, fresh basil, shrimp, baby clams, squid, and crab. All that deliciousness nestled between layers of homemade pasta, and topped with a little shred of Pecorino Romano cheese. It's a slice of seafood heaven.
Olive Oil and Herb Focaccia What would a good Italian meal be without some homemade bread to go with it?
Radicchio and Green Leaf Salad The perfect compliment to our seafood lasagna is a large salad of hand cut green leaf lettuce and radicchio drizzled with a sundried tomato and balsamic vinaigrette, and dusted with sesame seeds.
Panna Cotta with Blueberry Preserve Back by popular demand is our delicious panna cotta. This time it's topped with a homemade blueberry preserve that is just out of this world.
Our vegetarian alternative is a roasted vegetable lasagna in a rich tomato sauce. We are also able to make a dairy free seafood lasagna if requested.
As usual, we can do a half-vegetarian, half-meat box so everyone gets fed. Just include a note with your preference at checkout.
Order cutoff is 3pm Wednesday, February 3rd, with delivery Thursday, February 4th between 11am and 5pm. Never hesitate to ask us about any dietary restrictions you may have, we love to feed people and always do our best to accommodate.
