I will never forget the first time I got to try this delicious nectar of the gods. Anna was catering her sister’s wedding and I was giving her a hand. She thrust this mason jar filled with this mysterious and mesmerizing liquid at me and said, “Try this.” Since I’m polite and never turn down the opportunity to try something new, I put my knife down and took a sip. If you could take those bright days of early summer and distill them down into a beverage syrup, it would taste like this.
For a simple rhubarb soda, just mix a splash of this with soda water, mint, and ice. Anna's go to ratio is 1 part nectar, 2 parts soda water. I'm sweet enough so I tend to go for 1 part nectar to 4 parts soda water. Best part is you can add a splash of vodka, gin, or prosecco if you fancy... and we often do.
