Tacos. Lots of people do them, but not a lot of people do them like us. After the last time we did tacos I got a phone call from one of our regulars. It went something like this:
“Those tacos… I have eaten on the streets of Mexico and in countless taquerias. But those were the best ******* tacos I have ever eaten in my life. I am stuffed.”
With comments like that, it’s hard for us to not bring back our beloved tacos. So here you go. The Love Box: Tacos Edition.
Beef Barbacoa A blend of lean brisket and top sirloin braised for 14 hours in a blend of citrus fruits, onions, garlic, tomatoes, spices, and our house blend of peppers, giving this meat a truly outstanding flavour.
Salsa Fresca A hand diced fresh salsa with a wide array of citrus and herbal flavours that dance across the palate. Anna has taken to referring to it as “Mike’s salsa,” as it’s one of those recipes that lives in my head. We’ve stopped trying to write the recipe down, there’s just too much to it.
Whipped Queso Fresco Fresh Mexican cheese, grated and whipped. The perfect topping.
Pickled Onions and Cabbage The ideal pop of acidity to accent the deep rich flavours in the carnitas, with just the right amount of crunch.
Red Bean Pesto Similar to a refried bean, but silky smooth. When Anna first showed me this recipe, I was in awe. I could not understand how she managed to pack so much flavour into it. It provides a subtle depth to the taco in every bite.
Grilled Soft Shell Flour Tortillas
Elote Elote is a common street food in Mexico. It’s grilled corn topped with crema and a blend of spices. Seeing as it's officially corn season, we're serving it the old fashioned way... on the cob.
Peach Panna Cotta It's that time of year again, the peaches are upon us. And as we get to making our famous peach preserve, we also get the delicious brandy peach syrup as a by-product. Which is why we've swapped out the old dessert for a creamy panna cotta topped with a brandy peach syrup with fresh berries and just a hint of lime.
Shredded Jackfruit Barbacoa (Vegetarian Option) We took our classic barbacoa marinade and tweaked it for a shredded jackfruit. Young jackfruit marinated and braised in a blend of citrus fruits, onions, garlic, tomatoes, spices, and our house blend of peppers, giving it truly outstanding flavour.

As usual, we can do a half-vegetarian half-meat box so everyone gets fed. Just include a note with your preference at checkout.
