We’ve had so many requests to bring back the barbacoa that we did back in September. This week, we thought to ourselves, “Yes, I could eat some tacos.” So grab yourself a cerveza, and enjoy this week’s taco box. Here’s what’s included.
Slow braised beef barbacoa A blend of lean brisket and top sirloin braised for 14 hours in a blend of citrus fruits, onions, garlic, tomatoes, spices, and our house blend of peppers, giving this meat a truly outstanding flavour.
Salsa fresca Fresh diced salsa with a wide array of flavours. A gentle reminder as we head into the cold dark winter that spring and summer will be just around the corner.
Whipped queso fresco Fresh Mexican cheese, grated and whipped. The perfect topping.
Pickled onions and cabbage The perfect pop of acidity to accent the tacos and give them just enough crunch
Red bean pesto Similar to a refried bean, but silky smooth.
Grilled soft shell flour tortillas The hint of char from grilling the tortillas perfectly combines with the ancho chilis in the barbacoa to give the taco a smokey undercurrent.
Toasted elote salad Elote is a common street food in Mexico. It’s grilled corn topped with crema and a blend of spices. We’ve taken this grilled corn and made it into a tasty salad to pair with the tacos, but it doubles as a topping.
Mexican chocolate fudge brownie A rich chocolate brownie with a hint of chili and cinnamon, a crowd pleaser from last time. But we’ve tweaked it by adding a small drizzle of salted caramel dulce de leche.
Our vegetarian alternate is a shredded braised tofu barbacoa. It’s so good you probably won’t even notice a difference. As usual, we can do a half-vegetarian half-meat box so everyone gets fed. Just include a note with your preference at checkout.
Order cutoff is Wednesday November 25th at 6pm with delivery Thursday November 26th between 11am and 5pm.
Never hesitate to ask us about any dietary restrictions you may have, we love to feed people and always do our best to accommodate.
